Everyone's unique beauty shines forth when they have radiant health and personal
happiness. Beauty is a side effect of a balanced, fulfilled life. Supreme personal beauty is accessible to everyone who is willing to take more control of their health in their day-to-day life through time-tested principles of natural living. For most of us, beauty is not a gift but a choice. Everyone can be radiantly beautiful simply by beginning to lead a healthier life. You will be rewarded by the glowing effects you will see in your mirror each day and the powerful, bliss-producing effect your special beauty has on everyone in your life.
The Three Pillars of Beauty
Traditional Chinese Medicine considers true beauty to be supported by three pillars; Inner Beauty, Outer Beauty and Lasting Beauty. Only by enhancing all three can we attain the balanced state of radiant health that makes each of us the most fulfilled and beautiful person we can be.
Inner Beauty
Inner beauty is authentic beauty, not the kind that shows on a made-up face, but the kind that shines through from your soul, your consciousness or inner state of being. Inner beauty comes from a mind and heart that are in harmony, not at odds with each other, causing emotional confusion, loss of confidence, stress and worry. Inner peace is the foundation of outer beauty.
Outer Beauty
The outer signs of beauty - your skin, hair and nails - are more than just superficial measures of beauty. They are direct reflections of your overall health. These outer tissues are created by the inner physiological processes involved in digestion, metabolism and proper tissue development.
Outer beauty depends more on the strength of your digestion and metabolism, the quality of your diet, and the purity of your blood, than on external cleansers and conditioners you may apply.
Lasting Beauty
Lasting beauty is about the commitment you make to yourself, and the choices you make in your day to day life. In order to slow the aging process and gain lasting beauty it is necessary to eliminate toxins and free radicals in the body and add rejuvenating techniques to your daily living.
The main deteriorating effects of aging come as toxins and impurities accumulate
throughout the body. These toxins may begin as free radicals in the body, or over time may become oxidized into free radicals. Beyond this the daily activities of life in the modern world systematically wear us down and speed up the aging process. Oriental Medicine maintains it is crucial to practice daily rejuvenative regimens (such as proper sleep, meditative techniques, nutritious foods, moderate forms of exercise) to counteract the stressful wear and tear of everyday life.
The Technique
Candice Nelms, A.P., Dipl. O.M. is trained in the Nafeli style of Facial Rejuvenation which embraces the Oriental Medical concepts of understanding the person as a whole and treating accordingly, while also using acupuncture needles for target specific areas of the face.
This first session will last 2 hours and will include a full pulse diagnosis, facial analysis, discussion on personal medical history and a treatment.
Each treatment is broken down into 3 stages. First, needles will be inserted into powerful points along the back to increase circulation in the body as "bruising" can easily occur in the face when needles are inserted. Second, needles will be removed from the back and inserted into the front part of the body addressing core issues associated with the particular aging process of the individual. Third, an herbal facial Tui Na (medical massage) session will occur on the face and glandular areas of the neck and areas on the scalp. Following the Tui Na session, minimal needles will be inserted into key areas of the face for the stimulation and recognition of problem areas. Each acupuncture stage will take approximately 15 minutes.
Following your initial appointment, Candice will create a diagnostic report of your condition(s) and plan a direction of treatment. Nutritional counseling will be a large part of this process as well as customized herbal formulas to support the digestive process during this time.

Acu-Facial Rejuvenation is a holistic approach to beauty that helps the whole body look and feel younger. By addressing the physical, mental and emotional stresses that cause disease and accelerate aging, it goes beyond mere cosmetics and deals directly with the health of the body's largest organ-the skin.
Acu-Facial Rejuvenation works by tightening pores, improving muscle tone, increasing collagen production and reducing facial stresses. It also restores balance to the skin's moisture and color by increasing blood circulation to the face, which improves muscle tone. It can even reduce the buildup of noxious elements in the skin.
Remember, your skin is your body's largest organ. Which is why the condition of your skin so accurately reflects your overall well-being!
Acu-Facial Rejuvenation requires a 10 session commitment ($1,000.00). You can expect to see results after the first session and longer lasting effects mid-way through the sessions. After your 10 sessions have occured you will understand how to maintain your external beauty with herbal massage techniques, nutritional choices, acupuncture maintenance for over-all health and moderate forms of exercise/meditation.
