Acupuncture is a 3000 year-old Oriental Medical modality that uses hair-thin needles inserted into the body. Usually the first question is, "Does it hurt"? In truth, the anticipation of pain is worse than the actual insertion of a needle, which mainly feels like a little "pinch" (if anything is felt at all). The most exciting sensations felt by patients are not the actual insertion of the needles, but what ensues throughout the body during the communicative process between the needles after insertion has occurred. Some patients report feeling warmth around an insertion point or pressure, a comfortable traveling sensation throughout the body, the relaxation of the chest with an ability to breath deeper and a quick alleviation of stress. If a patient is in pain, relief is found. If a patient is tired, energy is felt. If a patient is depressed, general well-being occurs.

Acupuncture is great at helping the body reconnect itself at deep cellular levels, thereby increasing the body's access to DNA information in order function at an optimal health potential and bridging any gaps that may have been formed during the life experience. Because the needles are able to access the individual at great depths, acupuncture can be used to not only approach the physiological process/pathologies, it can also help to reconnect the mental/emotional/spiritual pathways so closely linked to the manifestation of the physical ailments a patient may be experiencing.

It is also important to note that Acupuncture works great for chronic conditions, but can also speed up the recovery process of an acute condition (post surgery, post injury, post accident, post illness) or prevent seasonal pathological invasions from occurring by boosting immune defenses. So if you feel like you are getting sick, make an appointment. If you are already sick, make an appointment. If you want to avoid getting sick, make an appointment. If you are stressed out or had a rough week, make the appointment, maintain your health!
